Bulletin 04.11.2022

4th November 2022

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

Extra-Curricular Events

This has been a busy first week back at school, with the Music, Photography, and Drama departments all organising visits for pupils, and the PE staff leading a large group to see professional basketball played at the Copper Box in London. We’re keen that all pupils are able to enjoy these opportunities; if your child wishes to attend an event which you can’t afford at present, please do discuss this, in confidence, with the staff member organising the visit, so that we can try to help.

Winter Wear

We expect every pupil to have a school uniform jumper and to wear this as the first layer over their polo shirt. We can lend a school jumper to any pupil without one. The school heating is usually working well, and classrooms are heated appropriately – if your child particularly feels the cold, please provide extra layers to wear under the polo shirt – coats are not usually allowed to be worn in classrooms.

Lots of pupils have come to school on cold, wet mornings without a coat – and in some cases, without a school uniform jumper. Please try to persuade your son or daughter to wear weather-appropriate clothing. If they are cycling, reflective items are very important as the nights start to draw in. Bike lights are essential if your child is staying for after-school clubs.

Local Transport

There is a lot of information in the body of the bulletin for pupils of all ages, and also some notices offering you the opportunity to respond to a survey about the local plan for transport. This will directly affect anyone who travels in or out of central Cambridge, with the proposal of an enhanced bus service and a central Cambridge £5.00 daily congestion charge.

I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.
