Bulletin 10.02.2023

10th February 2023

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

This very short half term has seemed exceptionally intensive, with Year 11 mock exams, the Year 9 Options process, a Careers event for Year 7, and a whole variety of trips and visits taking place to support the curriculum. This included the Year 10 Design Technology classes visiting the Design Museum and seeing the Yr 11 students’ prize- winning product, the eco-seed, on sale in the Museum shop.  A busy programme of sports fixtures has taken place, and many pupils have enjoyed clubs and activities after school.  Over the past weeks, our Language Leaders have been teaching Spanish classes in the local primary schools, and Sports Leaders did their usual brilliant job of supporting younger children at the School Sports Partnership Friendship Games.

Alongside all this, the cast and crew have been working flat-out with staff to prepare our next school musical theatre production,  Chicago.  This will be the first school production to be staged in the newly-fitted-out Performance Hall between 1-4 March and promises to be a fantastic event.

Outside of school, the Local Authority has asked schools to share information about a series of NHS walk-in clinics across the region where you and your families can receive a COVID-19 vaccination over half term. In addition, the Vaccinators on Tour team will also be able to give adult (aged 18+) flu vaccinations to anyone who is eligible.  Please see the attached letters for more information.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break,

Claire Coates
