Parent Bulletin: 29.01.2021

29th January 2021

This week's parent bulletin is available here

Dear Parents and Carers

There are lots of important notices further insider the bulletin and just a few messages from me today:

Critical Worker School

We have more than 100 pupils enrolled in Critical Worker School and are now operating a waiting list. It is essential that pupil numbers are kept as low as possible in order to limit transmission of the virus and because most teaching staff are involved in creating and delivering remote lessons. If you are a Critical Worker and have absolutely no other option for childcare, please email thecollege@cambournevc.org and request that your child’s name be added to the waiting list on the relevant days. You will be contacted when a place becomes available.

Year 9 Parent Consultation: Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Please see the panel later in the bulletin for the links to book your appointments, if you haven’t already done so.

Further Development of the School

As you’re aware, we ran a consultation on opening a Sixth Form Centre on site from 2023 and the Trust is now working on further aspects of the application process. In the meantime, we’re working with the Kier Design Team on plans to increase the 11-16 accommodation on site from 2023, alongside the proposed sixth form. We will share these plans with you in more detail as they become more concrete. In the meantime, the outline layout of the proposed new facilities is shown in pink on the map below:

I hope you all have a very good weekend. With the spring flowers emerging and the sky now light until 5pm, I’m very glad to have January this year nearly behind us!

With all good wishes and take care of yourselves,

Claire Coates
