Parent Bulletin 05.12.2024

5th December 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

First of all, I wanted to remind you all that the school is closed tomorrow, Friday 6th December. This is a collapsed disaggregated training day for all our staff. Also, we have a Year 11 parent consultation today after school, and as ever I hope it is a useful to be able to talk to you child’s teachers, especially at this critical time during their education.

Many congratulations to two of our Year 10 pupils, Beyza Tarcan and Abby Lai who both won the FutureChef Competition head beating 12 other pupils across a range of schools, an amazing achievement! They will now be competing in the regional final next year as well as being mentored by two professional chefs. Well done to both pupils and we will be cheering you on in the new year for the next stage of the competition!

Inside this week’s bulletin there is a link to buy tickets for our Christmas Concert, which will be held next Thursday 12th December from 7pm, in the Performance Hall. We hope you can come along and support our pupils, as well as enjoying some festive music.  There are also three online safety guides with advice for parents and carers as well as information on the new PE clubs starting in January and the launch of a writing competition, on the title ‘what does self-care mean to me’.  A link to the competition with more information and what prizes can be won are on page 13 of the bulletin.

I'd also like to make a plea to all parents and carers, to be please be aware of what food is going into your child’s lunch each day as we are a nut free school. Even simple food items such as a snickers bar, should not be brought onto site at all. To keep all our pupils safe, thank you in advance to everyone with your support with this.

Wishing everyone a lovely (and long) weekend,

Lynn Mayes

Principal
