Dear Parents and Carers
It has been so lovely to welcome all our students back to Cambourne Village College this week, after what I’m sure was a wonderful summer break for you all. Our Year7s were especially excited on Wednesday and had a great day whilst looking very smart in their new uniform. For parents new to the school, we produce a Weekly Parent Bulletin that is emailed home each Friday afternoon, containing news, updates and information about what is going on here at Cambourne. There are also hints, tips, useful information, as well as helpful contact details.
We also welcomed on Wednesday, our first ever cohort in our newly opened Sixth Form, the building has seemingly been incorporated into the existing structure and the new Year 12s will I’m sure make full use of our outstanding new facilities. Our Head of Sixth Form, Ms Rose, has added some further information about this exciting time within the bulletin.
Also in the bulletin are reminders about our uniform expectations, with links to our uniform providers and the form to request for 2nd hand uniform. If you have any uniform that does not fit your child and you no longer need, please just drop these into reception. We always welcome donations.
All Year 7 parents should have received a letter about a Year 7 information and meet the tutor evening, which this year will be held on the evening of Thursday 19th September. Your children are not expected to attend this but we strongly encourage all Year 7 parents and carers to attend this useful event, to gain more information about your child’s start at Cambourne VC as well as meeting your child’s tutor, who will also be able to answer any questions you may have.
We’re looking forward to another exciting year at Cambourne, but in the meantime, have a wonderful weekend.
