Parent Bulletin 08.11.2024
8th November 2024
This week's bulletin is available here.
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope your children have had a great first week back after a relaxing half term break. Our busy extra-curricular calendar has started up in earnest again next week with a number of our Year 9 and 10 students heading to Zaragoza as part of the Spanish exchange next week – we all hope they all have a wonderful experience immersing themselves in the Spanish culture. There is also a Year 10 BTEC Cooking visit, a Year 12 photography trip to Cambridge and a Year 10 and 11 GCSE Drama trip to see The Crucible. Also, next week, of course, our Year 11 mocks continue, and we thank you all for your continued support with their revision and ensuring they are in school each day with the correct equipment. On Thursday 14th November, is the Year 9 Parent Consultation. Periods 1-4 are taught that day and all pupils will leave school after lunch, between 1:25pm and 1:35pm.
As the weather gets colder, we continue to ask all our pupils to remove their coats when inside the school building. I’m also pleased to say that over the half term break, all the issues with the lockers have now been resolved. If your child has any issue with their locker moving forward, please contact their year team in the first instance. Thank you though for your patience whilst we resolved these issues and I would also like to take this opportunity to remind all parents of children in Years 7-11 that all pupils must be in their full and correct school uniform each day and any incorrect uniform or additional jewellery will always be challenged by a member of staff. If you need a reminder, please look at the uniform page of our website here: https://www.cambournevc.org/parent-carer-and-student-information/uniform.
Thank you also to all our Year 11s and families who attended our Sixth Form open evening last night. It was a fantastic turnout, and it was a wonderful situation for us being able to showcase the fully open new setting and the amazing facilities and curriculum we can offer. If your child attended last night, I hope they are now considering Cambourne Sixth Form for the next stage of their education! If you would like to learn more, please through our Sixth Form website here: https://www.cambournesixthform.org/
I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend,
Lynn Mayes
