Parent Bulletin 09.02.2024

9th February 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your support during the recent cold spells. We have recognised that some of the classrooms have taken a while to heat up, however teachers have been allowing children to wear coats in the most affected classrooms when they are sitting still, whilst many other classrooms are absolutely fine. The heating has at least remained on throughout the whole winter but a new temporary boiler should arrive next Thursday, to be set up and running over the half term break and ready for the next half term. More extensive work will follow on from this on the whole system to ensure a more comfortable environment for everyone.

The 2nd round of Year 11 mock exams started today with Business and English Literature, and they will continue all next week for our Year 11s.  Please continue to support your children with their revision at home and ensuring that they have the correct equipment for this exam period. As a reminder, students will need to bring their equipment in a clear pencil case and must write with a black pen.  Other equipment needed, for some exams, will be: pencil, eraser, ruler, compasses, protractor and scientific calculator. Students are also allowed a clear water bottle, without a label, in the exam hall.

If you haven’t already purchased your tickets for Beauty and the Beast, you can do so here: https://www.wegottickets.com/CamAcademyTrust or contact Emma Soley (ESoley@cambournevc.org) for help with ticket purchasing. It looks to be a wonderful show that the pupils have been working so hard on for the last few months!

Hoping everyone has a lovely weekend.

Lynn Mayes
