Parent Bulletin 15.11.2024

15th November 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

First of all, let me congratulate all our Year 11s for successfully completing their mock exams. I know they have all worked so hard over the last few weeks in both preparation for these and completing them. I hope they’re able to enjoy a well-deserved rest over the weekend.

I wanted to inform all parents and carers about the changes that have been introduced this week with regard to our after-school homework support sessions. As you may know, these are for those pupils who miss their homework deadline, and one of the changes we’ve implemented revolves around the day of the week that the homework support will be sat, dependent upon the subject the homework is for. For further information and the days that subject specific homework support sessions will be run, see page 4 of the bulletin.

Additional information in this week’s bulletin includes additional flu vaccination catch up dates, our usual book and film recommendations of the week, information on how to take a tour of the Sixth Form if you missed the Open Evening last week with your Year 11. This would be especially valuable if your child is considering staying on at Cambourne, to see the facilities in person and a large number of un-named lost property coats.

We hope to see many pupils and parents at our 3rd annual litter pick event round Cambourne tomorrow morning. Please meet up for 10am at the cricket pavilion in Upper Cambourne. All equipment will be provided, just ensure you’re dressed correctly for the weather!

I also wanted to let you know that building work is due to start on the old library at the front of school on Monday 18th November, which means that the Key Stage 3 side gate will not be accessible until the middle of December. From Monday, all pupils will be entering and leaving through the car park side of the school.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend

Lynn Mayes

Principal
