Parent Bulletin 17.05.2024

17th May 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

With one more week until half term, we continue to support our Year 11 pupils who are currently undertaking their GCSE exams and we thank you for all the support they receive at home, as well as ensuring that they come into school wearing their correct uniform and with all the equipment they need.  If you perhaps need additional ways to help your child revise and prep for these exams, information can be found on the BBC Bitesize website here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zn7ssk7

Tomorrow, Saturday 18th May, we have our 2nd Eco Festival, being held at the College between 11am and 2pm. We hope that as many of you as possible can stop by to experience the large range of activities and stalls on offer. Highlights include the clothes swap, repair café, Whipple Museum, the Wildlife Trust, Greenpeace as well as Cambridgeshire Library. Winners of the Art Competition will also be announced. We’ll be based in the Performance Hall all day, so please come and see us.

Also, as a reminder for next week, on Monday 20th May, we have our 2nd Hong Kong Parent network meeting, to be held in the Performance Hall between 6pm and 7:30pm if anyone would like to join us.

We are nearly there with the handover from the developer Kier and the new building extensions, although a lot of the new spaces will not be in use until September, we are very much looking forward to having this much needed expansion to our teaching facilities, including a bigger library, new English and Science Departments, and of course the Centre, who are already in and greatly utilising their new space. This also means that the 6th form building should also be ready for the upcoming 6th form taster days for our current Year 10s, as well as those currently in Year 11 who are planning to study A-Levels with us, to get a sense of the space that they will be the first cohort to occupy!

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend,

Lynn Mayes

Principal
