Parent Bulletin 20.09.2024

20th September 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to all the Year 7 parents and carers who attended the information evening last night. We had a fantastic turnout, and it was wonderful to see meet everyone in person and share your child’s progress at the start of this academic year. Please can I ask that all parents continue to contact their year team in the first instance with any issues or queries. Lost property is stored in reception, unless it is named and then it will be returned to the year team offices.  Our lost property is already starting to build up, please take a look at the photos in week’s bulletin, if your child has lost anything.

Next week we will have Fizz Photography in school, on Monday 23rd September, who will be taking individual photographs of every pupil in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, which is a change from when we used to only have photos taken of pupils when they were in Years 7 and 11, which also means that there will be purchasing options each year too going forward. Years 7 and 11 will continue to be the only year groups however that will also have tutor groups shots also taken. There will be some changes to PE classes that day, please note the instructions below and ensure your children are in their full and correct uniform.

YEAR 7 will not have PE on Monday.

YEAR 8 students should arrive to school IN THEIR FULL UNIFORM (not PE Kit).  They should bring PE Kit with them to change into for Period 5 lessons.

YEAR 11 students should arrive to school IN THEIR FULL UNIFORM (not PE Kit).  They should bring PE Kit with them to change into for Period 5 lessons.

Also, from next week, our Year 7s will no longer be leaving early for lunchtime or at the end of the day. All Year 7 students should be dismissed for break, lunch, and the end of period 6 at regular school day times, for reference, these are below:

  • Breaktime: 10:40am
  • Lunchtime: 12:40pm
  • End of the day: 2:55pm

Tomorrow there will be annual Cambourne Community Fete (poster inside the bulletin) and there will be a display this year showing the history of Cambourne over the past 25 years and if you go along, you may also see some photos of when Cambourne Village College was first constructed!

Whatever your plans, have a great weekend,

Lynn Mayes

Principal
