Parent Bulletin 20.12.2024
20th December 2024
This week's bulletin is available here.
Dear Parents and Carers
This week we have been celebrating an enjoyable last week of term that has included each year group celebrating with their own assemblies for all pupil achievements this term and the Year 7s also had their school disco this week, from which I heard that a good time was had by all!
I’d like to give a special shout out and thanks to Emily Lamb, our Year 12 Photography student, whose photograph of the cheque handover made it onto the front page of December’s Cambourne Crier. We are very grateful to Emily for doing this and of course to both Taylor Wimpey and Vistry Homes for their donation towards getting a cinema in Cambourne up and running. We are always on the look out for more trustees to help make the cinema a reality, and more information or even ways to donate can be found on our website here: https://www.cambournevc.org/about-us/charitable-trust or you can email John Panrucker, Charitable Trustee – Chair at cambournecommunitycinema@gmail.com.
Inside our last parent bulletin of the year includes a message from our new chair of Governors, Jason White, and there are also the new January menus from our caters Innovate. We have kept the road safety pictures in there too as I’d like to advise all parents and carers to talk to your children over the Christmas break about road safety. This is covered during assemblies at school, but it is also important that these conversations are being had at home, especially as we’ve been informed of an incident where two young pupils ran out into the road in the dark from behind a bus that caused the driver to do an emergency stop. The pupils and driver were fine, but the safety of our pupils on their journeys to and from school is paramount, especially during these long dark months.
This will also be the last Parent Bulletin as going onward, as from the new year, the weekly parent bulletin will be combined with the termly News@Cam and a monthly newsletter instead will be sent out as we shake up and streamline our communications home.
As a reminder, there is a staff training day on Monday 6th January and all pupils will return on Tuesday 7th January. Also, from January we are putting the time children can access breakfast back to 8:20am, rather than 8am as it currently is.
Thank you also to all who took part in our Christmas Jumper/Accessories Day last Thursday, we raised nearly £500 for Save the Children.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break and a very happy new year.
