Parent Bulletin 22.03.2024

22nd March 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that those of you who were involved in the Year 10 Parent Consultation yesterday found the time useful. As ever, please do take a few minutes to feed back to us about your thoughts on this, through the MS form here: 2024 Year 10 Parent Questionnaire (office.com).

Those of you also lucky enough to have attended the Easter Concert last night would have been treated to many superb performances and as always, the students performed to exceptional standards and gave the audience a show that they will not forget in a hurry. A huge congratulations to all the students who took part in the concert! We can further celebrate this week as we received the Platinum Artsmark award by Arts Council England. This is the highest possible Artsmark accolade to be awarded and as part of the Artsmark schools’ network, we gain access to exceptional resources as well as networks of the country’s most treasured cultural organisations, helping us to further develop and strengthen our arts provision here.

I also wanted to remind all parents that we are a nut free school and the importance of this. We have pupils and staff within our school with severe nut allergies, so it is imperative that no nuts are brought onto the school site in any form. Please could we ask that you are extra vigilant with food in packed lunches and check ingredients lists where necessary. If the school is not aware of your child’s allergy of any form, then please do contact the school through year teams so we can update our records.

Recent news from our catering company Pabulum, is that due to increased labour and minimum wage rises, they have advised us they have had to raise the prices of some of their products by 5p. The meal deal price of £2.50 is protected and unpackaged hot grab and go items will remain the same, however the changes will be seen in some of their pre-packaged items, such as sandwiches and salad pots and will come into effect on the 1st of April 2024.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Lynn Mayes

Principal
