Parent Bulletin 22.11.2024

22nd November 2024

This week's bulletin is available here.

Dear Parents and Carers

We are pleased to say that tickets are now on sale for our Christmas Carol Concert, to be held on Thursday 12th December, starting at 7pm. Tickets are available here: Cambourne Village College Christmas Carols 2024 (wegottickets.com). In December we also have our Year 11 Parent Consultation, on Thursday the 5th but this will not be a half day closure as that will run between 4pm and 7pm. The College is also closed to all staff and pupils on Friday 6th December.

As you all may know, we now have two uniform suppliers, in order to give all parents the best range of prices available and the College meets every year with our uniform suppliers to talk through any issues and ensure that the quality and standard of service to you all remains high. Total Clothing have lowered their prices of the grey school jumpers as well as the rugby tops and PE shorts, with savings of between £1.05 and £1.55. School Yard continue to offer good value items with the added bonus that they are based in Royston, which is nearer to travel to if needed.

As the weather gets colder, please advise your children to take care on the way to and from school and as ever, to be particularly aware of other people on the footpaths and roads. We have unfortunately had some negative comments from members of the public about pupils cycling on footpaths at speed and nearly crashing into other people, as well as big groups of pupils taking up the entire footpath, forcing other pedestrians off the pavement into the bushes and mud. We have had assemblies on safer road use but would appreciate all parents having follow up conversations with your children at home, to ensure our core values of respect remain forefront in all our pupils do.

Finally, I hope everyone can join me in congratulating Miss Bingham, our Head of PE, who has returned from the Hockey Masters Word Cup (held in New Zealand) with a bronze medal for England!

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend, whatever your plans.

Lynn Mayes

Principal
