Update 15.06.2020
15th June 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you all had a good weekend. Here are today’s updates:
School Uniform
We are suggesting that parents delay any planned purchases of school uniform for September. Before lockdown, we had sourced a new supplier so that we are able to offer a choice of two outlets to purchase branded items, but they are not supplying during the school closure period and there will be no opportunity to try on new uniform at school this term. We will let you have more information as soon as possible and are anticipating a flexible approach to uniform for the first few weeks of return to school, if we cannot resolve the situation in good time.
Book Club
I’m delighted that a virtual book club has been started for pupils and staff. Your children can access this on the home page of their Teams app. Please do encourage them to post a review on what they have been reading and to join in the conversations about their favourite books. Many thanks to Miss Clash and Mr Garcia, and to Mr Bowers for the Trust IT support, in setting this up.
Cam Academy Trust Virtual PE Fixture: Race Across the World
Please encourage your children to take part in the cross-Trust challenge to see which secondary school can clock up the most miles of healthy exercise this week, by logging their daily walks, runs and bike rides on this link: https://tinyurl.com/ycmn6ts8
Details are on the attached flier, and we have the first day’s results below, as of 4pm today:
Whole trust: 605km – just past Paris 😊
Total distance travelled per school:
1st: Cambourne: 321km
2nd: Comberton: 171km
3rd: Melbourn: 81km
4th: St Peters: 30km
Average distance per school entry:
1st: Melbourn: 9.1km
2nd: St Peters: 7.7km
3rd: Cambourne: 7.46km
4th: Comberton: 6.36km
Bearing in mind that our PE Department are nothing if not competitive, your support in this would be very much appreciated – I’ll be out on my bike this evening!
Take good care of yourselves,
Claire Coates
Principal
