Parent Bulletin 29.11.2024
29th November 2024
This week's bulletin is available here.
Dear Parents and Carers
Today we have our recognition event after school to celebrate all our wonderful pupils and their contributions to the school over the last year. I hope it will be a fun way to celebrate for our pupils and a great opportunity for our staff to thank all the children invited for their continuous hard work.
Next week, we have a number of pupils heading to Bad Hersfeld in Germany for the exchange and I hope they learn a lot from this experience and can enjoy speaking and practicing their German On Thursday 5th December we have the Year 11 Parent Consultation, but that day is not a half day. However, the school is closed to all pupils and staff on Friday 6th December. Also, if you have a child who sat their GCSE exams over the summer, you should already be aware that their GCSE exam certificates are ready for collection from reception. ID must be shown when these are collected, and they can be picked up by the student themselves or a parent/sibling if they have been given permission to do so.
As a couple of reminders, please can we politely request that nobody parks in the disabled parking spaces unless they have a blue badge. We are also having issues with cars parking by the turning space near these bays which is causing a real difficulty for minibuses who need to use this space for our pupils to get in and out. Also, we have trialled having all after school community groups coming through the main reception over the past few weeks. We are making a slight change to this moving forward, so that any community group using the site before 5pm will still need to come through the main reception, but any groups using the site after 5pm may now use the side gates as their access route.
Following on from my message last week around travelling to school, please do have those conversations with your child(ren) to ensure they are getting to and from school safely. There are images on page 4 of the bulletin this week of our expectations when students enter and leave the school grounds via Swansley Lane. All bikes must be ridden on the roads and all walking and scooters should be on the same pavement, to leave the other side of the road clear for other pedestrians. If they want to be on the pavement but have a bike, all pupils will need to walk and push the bike alongside them. In Cambourne only the red paths are designated cycle paths and at all other times, cyclists should be using the roads.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
Best wishes
